I was on a list once that at the time was having a discussion about someone who didn't have any children and a person on the list said that someone who didn't have any children didn't matter on a tree, and I wrote to the list and I said that yes they do matter, and some others did too. I told them that genealogy is more than names. Someone who doesn't have children or who died as a child, can be very important to a family and can have long-lasting effects on that family. I had people in my family who didn't have any children, but they were important to us anyway. Some children died in our family and that affected our family too. I can't understand how people can be so cold sometimes. Other people wrote to that list too and felt the same way that I did, that they do matter.
