She was born April 2, 1927, in Blue Diamond, [Perry County], Ky., a daughter of Will Press and Mary Belle (Craft) Deaton, and lived in Middletown most of her life. Gerema loved spending time with her family, and going to watch her grandchildren play ball and going to bluegrass gospel music concerts. She had formerly operated a carry-out on Martz-Paulin Road. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles “Bud” Egleston, in 2002; two daughters, Patricia Egleston and Linda Lou Egleston; five brothers; and a granddaughter, Adrianne Welch. She is survived by six daughters, Linda (Gary) Hopkins, Diana Patterson, Becky (David) Fordyce, Sandy Mullins, Karen Egleston and Charlotte (Larry Miller) Markland; three sons, Charles (Judy) Egleston, William (Ruth) Egleston and Tim (Tracy) Egleston; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a very special sister-in-law, Geneve Deaton. ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
