I believe that is the person I am looking for. But I seem to remember Grandma saying he was 26 instead of 25 when he died. Grandma's name was Nancy (Bowling) Barnes she was born in March 1914 in Shoal and her parents were Joe and Delilah(Bolling). My Grandma left Hardburly not long after he died in 1943 and my mom was only 3, so I don't know a lot except that my mom, Dorene, had rheumatic fever while she was there and they lived near a creek. My Husband's family is also from Hardburly. They are Ritchie's. His dad is "Sonny" Ritchie, and his Grandma was Angeline Ritchie and I think his granpa's name was Hiram. They lived there until the late sixties. Angeline was born in 1889 and died in 1984 or 1985. If you can think of anything to help me out i would be so happy. JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON R.J. NEACE FROM THE DAYTON (OH) DAILY NEWS 6/29/08 R.J. Neace, 71, of Medway, OH passed away June 28, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 23, 1927 in Hazard, KY, the son of the late Joe & Norcey (Hicks) Neace. He retired from the Teamsters Union. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ada; two sons, Danny Ray Neace of CA, Darrell (Sharon) Neace of VA; two granddaughters, Sara & Taylor Neace; three sisters, Thelma Noble, Lola Osborne both of Louisville, KY, Kathleen Copley of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Ray Neace of Jackson, KY, Dexter Neace of Lexington, KY; a host of other relatives and three special friends, Jim Brock, Jim Jones and Debbie Hill. R.J. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wireman and a sister, Laura Neace. A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. July 1, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, OH. Funeral services will be held at 12noon! July 2, 2008 in the funeral home with Pastor Junior Watts officiating. Burial will be in Medway Cemetery. Born July 14, 1920, in (Perry County) Kentucky, she was the daughter of Daniel and Maude (Campbell) Couch. She had worked for over 15 years at Dayton Flexible Corporation in Eaton, OH, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Fred Winford Howard Sr., in 2004; sister, Marilyn Couch, in 1999; and granddaughter, Samantha Lee Howard, in 1989. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Suzanne Howard of New Paris, OH, and Donald Caudill of Salt Flat, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Iretta and Jack Michael of Versailles, IN, Phyllis and John Jordan, and Lillian and Gene Caudill, all of Camden; sisters, Marie Wooten and Imojean Milliam, both of KY, and Ruby Napier of AZ; brothers, Paul Couch of Collinsville, OH, Fred Couch of Hamilton, OH, and Kenneth Couch of KY; 17 gran! dchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were June 24, 2008 at the First Southern Baptist Church, Camden, with the Rev. Greg F. Jackson officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden. He was born July 10, 1942 in (Perry County) Kentucky, moving to Ohio in 1950. He was employed in foundation work by Myers Concrete and S & S Foundations for 25 years, and then as a machine operator for Eversharpe-Deburring Tool Company in Trenton, OH for 10 years retiring in 2002. He also cared for his mother after she suffered a stroke. He was an active member of the Home Avenue First Church of God, Trenton, OH, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He enjoyed four-wheeling in the Cumberland Lake area. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Salyers, Sr. and one son, Jerry Keith Salyers.
