    2. Well, DUH!! I knew I had it, I AM losing it. Donna, I found it in a folder on my puter. But I promise you I will start to work on it now, before you come after me with a wet noodle. haha Lynda In a message dated 2/18/2004 12:41:38 PM Eastern Standard Time, LyndaCGKyCol@aol.com writes: > In a message dated 2/18/2004 12:02:12 PM Eastern Standard Time, > M19RANGER99@aol.com writes: > > >Lynda, > >Are my eyes failing me or is the Caney Pct not online? ..... :) > > > >You are most welcome for the help. > > > >I feel that You and JimBob need a BIG THANK YOU! 2. Carter L Combs
    3. The following has been posted on several mail lists. I received it from the Breathitt Co KY Mail List and thought it is worthy of consideration. Carter Genealogical Codicil to My Last Will and Testament To my spouse, children, guardian, administrator and/or executor: Upon my demise it is requested that you DO NOT dispose of any or all of my genealogical records, both those prepared personally by me and those records prepared by others which may be in my possession, including but not limited to books, files, notebooks or computer programs for a period of two years. During this time period, please attempt to identify one or more persons who would be willing to take custody of the said materials and the responsibility of maintaining and continuing the family histories. [If you know whom within your family or friends are likely candidates to accept these materials, please add the following at this point: "I suggest that the persons contacted regarding the assumption of the custody of these items include but not be limited to" and then list the names of those individuals at this point, with their addresses and telephone numbers if known] In the event you do no find anyone to accept these materials, please contact the various genealogical organizations that I have been a member of and determine if they will accept some parts or all of my genealogical materials. His father was Elihu (Elehue, is how it appears in the 1880 census) Couch. Recently I began looking for the parents of Mary Jane as well, and also heard her father's name may have been Calvin. I placed a Calvin Stacy, 30 yrs old in the 1880 Allen, Owsley, KY census. Could this be him? A Mary Jane is listed with him, she is 9 yrs in 1880. There is also a Mary Jane Stacy in Perry Co., KY, in the household of Anderson Stacy, although she is 2 yrs at the time of the census. I may be related to the Stacy's through another line as well. I would greatly appreciate any information that could aid me in this search.

    1. [KYPERRY-L] Deans, Deatons and lost souls
    2. Virginia A.
    3. Hello, I am new to the list. I have spent the last years looking for information on my grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins and the like. . My grandfather, John W. Dean was born in 1858 in Scott County, Virginia. Somewhere along the way and after three wives, he ended up in Hazard, Kentucky where he finally met his demise in February of 1928 in an accident.. His third and last wife was my grandmother, Ellen Deaton born in 1894.They were married in 1910. My mother was under two years old and my grandmother was pregnant with Daniel Dean born in July of 1928. The children, as far as I know, were Helen, Tommy, Robert, Johnny, Roosevelt, Thelma, Theodore, Wellington, Mariam and Mabel and of course Daniel. Ellen was diabetic and pregnant and the younger children ended up in an orphanage after John W.'s death. Daniel was raised by one of Ellen's sisters, I believe her name was Rebecca. . You would think, with that many children, someone somewhere would know something about this family. I would be more than grateful to anyone that can help me find these people and in particular find out more about my grandfather. . Virginia in Seattle
