Again, what's the easiest way. > ********************************************************************************* Debbie, Most county libraries wouldn't have all the DC's on microfilm. The Ky Hist Soc has them all but there are hundreds and hundreds of microfilm rolls on the shelves. I am guessing that the county library would not have the funds, space, or desire to carry every DC filed in Kentucky from every county. (And "every" county is on each roll for that time frame). In other words, there are no rolls that I know of with just the DC's for a certain county. I mailed someone 2 DC's via reg mail just the other day. So you can get original copies from me. This has got me to thinking and I will get DC's for a buck a piece if you all want me to. But just for you folks. I know my little transcriptios on here are good, but sometimes there are some that mean the world to you and you want to see the real thing. Right? So here I am. Lynda

    1. [KYPERRY-L] Perry County
    2. Jane McEndree
    3. When did Perry County become a county? Was it a county in 1820? I know it was there in 1830 because I found Eliabeth Baker there at that time as the head of a house hold along with several other Bakers. There was an: 1. Elijah Baker who was in his 20's in 1830. 2. John Baker who was in his 30's in 1830. 3. Wilson Baker who was in his 20's in 1830. 4. Henry Baker who was a male between 15 and 20 in 1830. 5. Elizabeth Baker who was in her 30's with several children in 1830. Evidently Elizabeth's husband was either dead or they were divorced but Elizabeth was born in Virginia and would not probably be in Kentucky just on her own with all of these children without having other family around her. I do not know what her maiden name was. I was wondering if maybe some of her husbands family of Bakers may have been there in that same area. I am trying to see if there was a connection between her and any of the Bakers listed above. Perhaps this John Baker if not some of the others may have been a brother to her husband who was a Baker. Any help on any of this would be appreciated. Also, I was wanting to check the 1820 census for Bakers who may have been there at that time but cannot find a Perry County there in 1820 or at least none with any Bakers there if it was there. So, need to know if Perry Co. was a county in 1820 and if not what counties made up Perry county? Thanks so much, Jane Little McEndree Jane Little McEndree janemce@sbcglobal.net
