    3. Brenda, I can relate to all these children's deaths. My own sister died at 11 mos old and my mother never recovered, just learned to live w/it as you have. In my husband's family, in 1878 scarlet fever took five children in one month - is anyone saying these deaths don't count? How heartless! As I sit here crying. 19 years ago My dau. died 4 days after she was born. Today would of been her 19th birthday. I find it very sad that people don't talk about the children that have died. Maybe they don't know what to say. I know I still find it hard to talk about, and it's been 19 years..... > Thank you for posting the death certs. Brenda

    1. Re: [KYPERRY-L] Childs death cert.
    2. Brenda, I had a great aunt and uncle who had 2 children, a boy and a girl. Both of them died before they reached their second birthday. They died from pneumonia. It left a void in their lives forever. I remember seeing the pictures of them when I was growing up. They were so sweet. Things like that are so hard to understand. There was a family down there someplace in SE Ky that had a number of children and all of them died while very young. I am not sure what they died from. It is so hard on people when none of their children live past childhood. But, you would have to look at the certificate to see if they were father and son. It could be the younger one was a nephew or a cousin. Well, I thought of that also, but what are the chances that 2 different people died from the same thing, same day, same time? Any more thoughts on this appreciated Crystal

The State gives a certain amount of time to file the death certs and if it was late then the state stamped "DELAY" on them. And thanks for posting this DC, as I didn't have Amanda as one of their children. Do you know who she married? I too have alots of VIRES and GABBARDS in my lines. Thanks again Lynda Lynda, she married William Gabbard s/o Isaac and Belle Baker Gabbard (from what Im told) I havent been able to actually prove this as of yet, but my Granny says this and so do several "cousins", actually I think you had helped me quite abit when I first started genealogy. Then I lost EVERYTHING!!!!!! Now Im starting over :( Thanks for the reply, Crystal

    1. Re: [KYPERRY-L] Re:DCs for children
    2. I was on a list once that at the time was having a discussion about someone who didn't have any children and a person on the list said that someone who didn't have any children didn't matter on a tree, and I wrote to the list and I said that yes they do matter, and some others did too. I told them that genealogy is more than names. Someone who doesn't have children or who died as a child, can be very important to a family and can have long-lasting effects on that family. I had people in my family who didn't have any children, but they were important to us anyway. Some children died in our family and that affected our family too. I can't understand how people can be so cold sometimes. Other people wrote to that list too and felt the same way that I did, that they do matter. Thanks, Charlotte In a message dated 4/20/2004 10:13:23 AM Eastern Standard Time, LoisBrownCombs@aol.com writes: > <<I have a lot of death certs on children.
