Born on August 16, 1932, in Perry County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Luther and Jettie WOOTEN WHITAKER. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl WHITAKER. He was a retired coal operator and farmer, and a US Army Veterean of the Korean Conflict. On the Franklin Co, Ky page there is one of Lock # 2 on the Ky River. There is a nice restaurant called Jims Seafood located there now overlooking that dam.
