Do any of you know who these people are? They were at the 2003 & the 2004 Combs Reunion. I need their names so I can put them on the webpages. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyperry3/MVC-004s.jpg Lynda
Does anyone know Bruce Brown's email address? Lynda

Hello Cousins, Have been following the comments of those lucky ones who were able to be at the Combs reunion. Sounds as if I/we missed a great time with our cousins. Thanks to those who posted and filled those of us who couldn't be there in on the events. I just have to make one of these someday!! One a more somber note, we should be looking south to our cousins in Florida who are under threat of a very serious storm moving into their area within the next 24 hours. Hurricane Charley, now a category 2 storm at 105 mph, is about to cross Cuba and move into the Gulf of Mexico where it will intensify. Charley's path is projected to carry it northeast into the west coast of Florida, making landfall somewhere about the Pinellas County (where I live) and Tampa Bay Florida area on Friday afternoon. The National Weather Center projects that Charley will at this time be a major category 3 hurricane with wind exceeding 111 mph, and perhaps with winds in excess of 120 mph at landfall. As with all hurricane's, their exact paths and wind speed is very unpredicable, but regardless of where this storm lands, those in it's it path need your thoughts and prayers. Please include those of us in harms way in your prayers tonight as this is indeed a very dangerous storm. Freddie

Hi Everyone, As you probably know, Rootsweb has been having major problems with the lists2 mail lists. KYPERRY-L and KYPERRY-D are on that server. A new server was installed. They are now lists8 mail lists. They seem to be back up and running smoothly today but the announcement on the help pages says they may have lost quite a bit of mail. If you have made any posts to the list in the last few days, please repost your messages. Have a great weekend! Norma from - Middletown Ohio Family Page - http://www.angelfire.com/oh/myfamilygenes/

I haven't been able to look into this over the summer. Maybe this fall I call. I am thinking that their father William may be the son of William & Sarah "Sally" Phillips Edens who were in the Estill County, KY area. I know one son for sure--John Wesley Edens who went to Bozeman, Montana. I believe that Jeptha D. Edens was another son. He went to Huntington Co., WV. Their was one daughter and two more sons who I don't know, but I believe that William , sho married Malinda Begley, was very likely one of these other sons.

The Hazard Herald - 5 August 1915 Copied from microfilm by Allen Watts Transcribed by Freddie Wilson, 4 Aug 2004 RAMBLER'S NOTES Written by the Rambler "Daddy goes a Visiting" "A recent trip to Dwarf, Ky., was sure an eyeopener to me," is what the Rambler said as he stepped in to see the boys of the Hazard Herald. When asked to explain himself he began by saying "The town of Dwarf is, as you know, only eight miles from the court house, which ought to be reached inside of not over two hours, but it takes three hours and a halfs time to cover. I started on the fast mail line at seven in the morning, and after passing the mud holes and ruts in the city limits, going along the river side down to Second creek, I found the bridge gone with nothing, not even a chalk line, across the road to indicate any danger ahead. This bridge, I understand, went down when the elephant tried to cross on its way from Hazard. The presumption is that when the elephant comes back this way he will have to put it back, unless the overseer calls attention of the 'Fisical Court' to the fact that it's gone-the bridge I mean. "One goes up Lots creek, climbing one hill, then down another and yet again other hills; coming at last to the divide we come to the head of Combs branch, and on down to Troublesome Creek. Right there on both sides of the creek and branch is a town containing about twenty houses, 150 to 200 people, one main country store, a small grocery store, a post office and last, but not least by any means, the Church and Public school building, and the Tunnel Grist Mill."
