Mrs. Melton was born in Perry County on January 30, 1931. She was a homemaker and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Browning. Survivors include her husband, Robert Melton of Greenville; one son, Mark Melton of Greenville; four daughters, Wanda Melton Roberts of Lexington, Shirley Melton Beard of Central City, Brenda Gibson of Greenville and Barbara Keith of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Bargert, Brad Gibson, Brian and Geoffrey Roberts, April Jessup, Andrea Toll, Shannon Smith and Hannah Melton; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Logan Combs, Jimmy Combs and Jack Combs all of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and five sisters, Dorothy Campbell of Ulvah, KY, Mollie Combs of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Janis Howell of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Helen Lambert of Belleville, Michigan; and Imogene Matheson of Ulvah, KY.
