Service: Friday, Aug. 12, 20113:00 pm Patricia Blackman, 73, of Stafford County, passed away the evening of Friday, August 5, 2011 in her home. She was born Patricia Combs in the mountains of Hazard, Kentucky. Pat could be found most days working behind the counter of Mr. B's Small Engine Repair prior to her retirement and was quick with a smile and pleasant conversation. Pat had a tremendous love for animals and was never without a canine or feline companion. She is survived by her husband, David T. Blackman, her three children Tammy and husband Richard, Starla and husband Jim, and Shauna and husband Phillip, her sister Ruby, brother Johnny and three grandchildren Shauni, Christopher and Sarah. "Nana" Napier, 87, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, August 10, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She was born February 19, 1924 in Hardburly, Kentucky, a daughter of Ermindo and Pasqua (Felici) Nucci. She had resided in Sturgis since 1967, coming from Kentucky. On May 7, 1957 she married Irvin Napier in Kentucky. He died September 1, 1969. Eda retired in 1990 from Ram Products in Sturgis following 17 years of dedicated employment. Following her retirement, she had worked at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Sturgis for several years. She was also a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. Eda enjoyed attending activities at the Sturgis Senior Center, playing Bingo and loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Angela Griffith and husband Billy of Sturgis, Peggy Napier of Kalamazoo, Sheila Mowry and husband Dan of Portage, Mari Ann Alldredge and husband Richard of Sturgis and Traci Donley and husband Richard of Sturgis; grandchildren Heather Anders, Courtney Griffith, Jonathan Wood, Michael Wood, Alison Mowry, Adam Mowry, Stephanie Douangmala and husband Kenny, Lauren Alldredge, Christina Donley, Daniel Donley and Amanda Donley, and many nieces and nephews. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned both her Bachelor's and her Masters degrees. She was the Medical Assistant/ Program Director for the Bluegrass Community and Technical College System, as well as a member of Southland Christian Church. She was retired from Pepsi and a loving mother and adoring granny. She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy, husband Monroe, and grandson Jamie Campbell. Survivors include children Carolyn Howard of Hazard, Patricia Colwell and husband Lem of London, Mona Combs and husband David of West Liberty, Jimmy Young and wife Margretta of Bonnyman, Michael Young of Corbin, Sara Miller and husband Delbert of Bulan, Jesse Young of Bulan and Melissa Young of Hazard. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of life worship service with Pastor Donald Tackett and Pastor A.D. "Pete" McGee officiating was held on Monday. The burial followed in the Colwell Cemetery at Yerkes. *********************************************** Sallie Holland Sallie Holland, 86, died Thursday, July 21 at the Hazard ARH medical center. The daughter of the late Jimmy and Winnie Colwell, she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Chauncey Holland, and grandchild Jimmy Dean Flannery. She was a lifelong resident of Perry County and a loving mother and wife. She is survived by her daughter, Lorane Holland Campbell; sons Denus and Danny Holland; grandchildren Johnny Lynn Flannery, Timothy Wayne Holland, Courtney Hamm, and Danny Holland, Jr. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Engle Walker Funeral Home Chapel of Hazard on Sunday, July 24 with Clarence Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Colwell Family Cemetery at Busy. ************************************************ Geraldine Banks Geraldine Banks, 87, of Vicco, died Wednesday, July 20 at the Hazard ARH medical center. She was the daughter of the late Ed Combs and the late Nan Morgan Combs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Banks; daughters Lydia Faye and Draxie Elizabeth; six sisters, seven brothers and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her daughter, Gaye Nell Lewis; sons Coy David Banks and Hubert Ray Banks along with nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. Visitation will be at the Vicco Baptist Church where the family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Friday, July 22. Services will be at the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 with Ronald Davidson and James Daniels officiating.
