She was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Jess and Mary Jane Fields and the late Pokie Baker Fields. A lifelong resident of Perry County, she was a member of the Butterfly Church of the Living God and was also preceded in death by her husband, Mose "Spud" Feltner; son Danny Lee Feltner; granddaughter Kimberly Feltner Holbrook; great-grandson Matthew Davidson; sisters Glenna, Ruth and Paula Fields; brother Buddy Fields; son-in-law G.C. Baker and special friends Rose "Cracker" Eversole and Ed Kilburn. Metcalf, 75, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, August 21 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on Feb. 11, 1936 in Hazard, the daughter of Charles and Zola (Osborne) Campbell. On Sept. 15, 1965, Donna S. Campbell married her one true love, John Wesley Metcalf Jr. in Hazard, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2002. She was also preceded by sisters Jacqulene Boggs and Betty Crookshanks, both of Hazard. Survivors include two sons, Chris (Rachel) Metcalf of Davis Junction, Il. and Chuck (Lora) Metcalf of Rochelle, Il.; daughter Tammy McGuire of Hindman; grandchildren Destany R. Metcalf and Colin J. Interment was at Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff. ************************************************* Wallace Farrell Napier Wallace Farrell Napier, 65, passed away at the Richmond Hospice Compassionate Care Center on Friday, August 19. He was born in Hazard, the son of the late Napoleon "Pole" and Edith Napier. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966. He served his country proudly in the Vietnam War until he was severely wounded and received a permanent medical retirement. Wallace received many awards and medals for his service, including the Purple Heart. Since his return from Vietnam, he had been a strong advocate for our country's veterans. Wallace was later awarded the Disabled Veteran of the Year award, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America and the Purple Heart Organization. He served as the Disabled American Veterans State Commander in 1991-92. He served on the DAV National Executive Committee, representing Kentucky and Indiana. Mr. Napier was a member of the Berea Church of Christ. He always helped other veterans in any way they needed help. Wallace and Linda had two children, Bradley Scott Napier and wife Melissa and Beverly Renee Gaylord and husband Sam. He is also survived by grandson William "Will" Bradley Napier; sisters Mary Lena Hurt and husband Sid and Wilma Kay Spurlock and Lotta Marie Roland; brothers Elzia Darrell Napier and wife Peggy, Eugene Napier and wife Charlene and Darrell Napier and wife Sarah. Preceding him in death were his sisters Reva Fritsch, Dale Spinhirne and Martha Ann Combs and his brother Napoleon "Pole" Napier, Jr. The family of Mr. Napier is very proud in everything he has done and will be greatly missed by all. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 22. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Bro. Jerry Brown and Charles Moore officiating. Interment will be at Jones Cemetery at Lost Creek. *************************************************

JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON ERNEST RILEY FROM THE DAYTON (OH) DAILY NEWS 11/9/10 Ernest Riley, age 72 of Germantown, OH passed away November 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Hinner, KY the son of the late William and Clara (Hensley) Riley. (NOTE: KY birth index indicates birthplace as Perry County KY and birthdate as March 24, 1938). Ernest graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1956, where he was an outstanding athlete, a veteran of the Marine Corp, was retired from AK Steel, and he loved to play golf, fish and the outdoors. Ernest loved to watch the Valley View Spartan football team . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Wilgus Riley a sister Thelma Taylor and a nephew Doug Riley. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Judy (Riner) Riley; a son Ernest (Bianca) Riley, of Centerville, OH; daughters Pam (Chuck) Stewart, of Beavercreek, OH, Tina (Mark) Terrell of Riverside, OH and Tracy Crum, of Germantown; 8 grandchildren Megan, Sean, Isabella, Alexandra Riley, Tanner and Baylee Crum, Austin Terrell and! Charlie Stewart; sisters Helen (Dudley ) Hamm, Beulah Evans, Carolyn (Paul) Harris; brothers Bill (Jayne) Riley and James (Cathy) Riley. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Novembe 10, 2010 at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home Germantown. The family would like to thank all who stopped and visited dad in the garage, (He loved your company), to the Hospice of Dayton, Dr. Glenn Papaioannou and nurse Jessica. It was not the 2nd turnoff. It was the first turnoff, left fork. As soon as we got out of my vehicle, a funeral procession came to the cemetery. We left. I will go back Friday and take all the pics I can. It is a large cemetery, it may take a couple trips.
