I KNEW when rootsweb sold to Ancestry.com a few years ago that it would come to this. I am not one bit surprised. I would even bet that everything posted on these lists is fair game to Ancestry too. Before I could update the reports (which are about 2 years old) I had to agree to a lengthy 'Terms of Service'. I didn't and just now went back in to try it again. According to the new 'Terms of Service' - anything I put up there can be harvested by Ancestry.com and MyFamily.com and resold either online or on CDs. That is the reason I stopped uploading my files to FTM years ago, and now they want to sell my work (and the work of others who have transcribed and posted for free use). I think that after all these years, and in spite of the new family members I won't find, I am not going to post any new info to that site. I will probably remove my file all together. I just wanted to be sure that if any of you use FTM's web site for your 'home pages' that it can and will be sold once you agree to the new 'Terms of Service'. It's not that I mind sharing my information, it's that I resent someone selling it. OK, I'm off my soap box for now.
