    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: fieldscat Surnames: Fields/Eversole/Creech Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.perry/194.922.1492.1571/mb.ashx Message Board Post: We recently visited our cousin, and she showed us a book on the Fields family.(Was it one of yours?) It included Hiram Fields, m.to Fannie Mays. We have always known we were cousins to the ones we visited, but never asked our elders how we were linked. Now we're trying to make that link. My husbands ancestors were from Owsley Co.,KY (also Clay, Jackson, Perry, Leslie) His gr,gr grandfather Jeremiah, Jr. was b.1826, married Elizabeth Eversole (b.1820) in 1846. She had been a Begley. They had 4 children, Sarah b.1847 (who married Samuel Davison), Joseph b.1852 who married Mary Polly Hignite, James b.1855 and Stephen b.1858. Jeremiah Jr. died 1863 (and is buried) at Vicksburg,a SGT in the Union Army, Civil War. We trying to find his wife Elizabeth's grave. Joseph b.1852, was my husband's gr grandfather, and he was alive in 1889, in Owsley Co. but we can't find a record of him in 1890. We have searched for years to find his grave. His wife, Mary 'Polly', married again to John Gabbard ,and later died in IN. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? Could you check in your book to see if you have any information that could make the link. The cousin we received the info from is a decendent of William 'Billy' and Lydia Rice Fields. She thinks we are from the Davis and Abigail Creech's line. We found some information in the Letcher Co. Library that stated Davis and Abigail had a son named Jeremiah, we think he may be our gr,gr,gr grandfather, but we haven't found anything further to prove it. If you have any information that would help us, then we'd really like a copy of your book, and appreciate your sources. Thank you, Ray & Cathy Fields Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [KYPERRY] Edna Couch Campbell obit
    2. Thanks for showing this obit. Edna and her husband, Mason, and her young daughter, Betty, were neigbors of mine years ago when I was just a youngster. Edna was a gracious lady and a good mother. She was married to Mason Campbell, son of Jack and Lizzie Campbell. Mason was with the Hazard Telephone Company in its younger days. After they left our neighborhood I never did know where they lived. Billie and I was talking about Edna's brother, Dickie Couch, some time ago and wondered about them. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: [email protected] > > Edna Couch Campbell CAMPBELL Edna Couch, 87 widow of the late Mason > Campbell, Sr, died Sat, Dec 29, 2007 at the St. Joseph Hospital. 3. Lynda, I chatted with Oscar Combs who is a brother to Ray who passed away. He said Ercie died approximately 60 plus ago. His half sister was 11 1/2 years old when she died and she is now well into her 70's. He said Ercie was buried in a cemetery called Old Blackhawk. I am sure that means something to you but I am not aware of it. He said there is a young child buried next to her. I think Ercie died and then his dad married the Lamb lady that is his mother. She is from this area.....I think. Oscar said his dad's grandpa was Hand Bill Combs. Oscar also said it was ok to call him if anyone wanted to chat or ask questions. His number is 859-756-3080. Feel free to ask me anything I could be of help with. Thanks, Phillip > From: [email protected]> Date: Thu, 27 Dec 2007 20:39:30 -0500> To: [email protected]> Subject: Re: [KYPERRY] Ray "Razor" Combs obit> > > In a message dated 12/27/2007 8:35:31 PM Eastern Standard Time, > [email protected] writes:> > Yes his father is the one that was married to Ercie Combs. 3. >From what I have heard from the computer world including techs at HP and even Microsoft folks themselves, Vista just isn't up to operating snuff. I still have 2000 on my main computer (and I love it!) and XP on my laptop and the one I inherited from my mother. I don't know why (except to sell something) they got away from 2000. XP offers less and is not as easy to use., but Vista has just played havoc with everything from programs to hardware. MS folks say that 2000 is the best operating system they have put out (not the big guys) the people that don't have a stake in anything but making things work.) I love FTM 2005. It does everything I have needed to date. I haven't upgraded because I can't see a good reason for it. Can anyone tell me what 2008 offers over 2005? I'd really like to know myself. 3. Lynda, I do not know but I will find out. The funeral is tomorrow so I will wait until the weekend to call and ask. The brother who keeps up with the ones around Jeff was 8 when they moved from Perry to this area and another brother was one. Oscar the one who was 8 is the only one of the brothers who know the relatives who are still in Perry County or keeps up with the ancestors. I am from Sassafras/Red Oak so I am always interested in the ones who are from home. I will find out where she is buried if she is deceased and I assume she is but will find out.
