    1. [KYPERRY] Combs High School 1948 - 1949 Yearbook
    2. Hi Gang, I'v acquired the Combs High School year book for 1948 -1949 and just wondered if any of you attended this school during this year or know of anyone that did. This year book belonged to one of the teachers, Pauline Fields. Lots of students left their autographs in there. Miss Pauline Fields must have been well liked. In the 1900 census they are shown as William P. Young (born 1855 or 1858 or 1863), Margaret (Caudill) Young (born around 1865), and their children Ira Young, Ida Young, Allis (Alice) and Pearlla/Pearlie. Ida goes on to marry Joe Hall, and Alice later marries Riley Sturgill. Ira adopts the name James Ira Young and marries Julie/Julia Campbell in 1906 and this is the line my husband descends from. My biggest challenge is to find out who William P. Young's PARENTS were. My best guess is Thomas and Lucinda Young (see 1860 census) but have no way to prove the link. 1. [KYPERRY] Lost Cousin
    2. Rebecca Christmas
    3. We have recently discovered that one of our uncles had a child out of wedlock. Here is the story we were told: Our oldest uncle, Fult(on) Pratt, who was the son of Hiram Gilbert and Mary Liz Pigman Pratt had a son out of wedlock. That son joined the army during WWII and was stationed in or near Alaska. While in Alaska, he drowned. We know that the mother was probably from Perry or Knott County, but that is all. Some of the older cousins vaguely remember a young boy living for a short time with our grandparents. Does this story sound familiar to anyone?
