Pat, I am also researching a family Power/Powers from Pendleton, KY that has a Thrasher branch in it. I will look in my notes and see what years as soon as I finish tax season. Please contact me if you have any Power connections. Kat
Hello! I don't mean to butt in on your POWERS and THRASHER marriage conversation and I'm not able to help you at all, but I do have POWERS and possibly a THRASHER connection in Pendleton. POWERS: I had a letter from a family member who remembered her mother (Josephine RATCHFORD b.1877) who had a cousin named Jim POWERS. The cousins would have known each other during the 1880s and beyond. I know the RATCHFORDs (or any spelling thereof) lived in Pendleton in 1870, but can't find them anywhere at all! in 1880, they could have been skipped. I've not found a RATCHFORD/POWERS marriage, nor a FITZGERALD/POWERS marriage yet, so I don't know how the connection works but thought I would add my two cents. THRASHER: This is a bit more obscure right now. I have a copy of the 1857 Pendleton Marriage record...just one page. On August 20th - Jonathan MORRIS - residence Pendleton - age 50 - widower - place of birth Pennsylvania (married) Margaret THRASHER - residence Pendleton - age 40? it's not clear writing - widow - place of birth Campbell. I can not give you any information on the POWERS or THRASHER people but do have much info on the RATCHFORD and MORRIS families...if anyone is interested. jamie in california
