Risk Meek, 45 years old, chief surgeon at Booth Memorial Hospital Covington, KY. and widely known physician of Cincinnati and Northern KY d. 17 Dec 1924 at Booth Hosp. as a result of a skull fracture suffered when his automobile hit a street car when in the center of the Suspension Bridge. Son of Dr. J. M. Meek and Emma Risk b. 9 Dec 1879 in Falmouth. Grandson of the late Dr. J. B. A. Risk, pioneer physician of this county. m. Miss Louise Applegate dau. of Judge Leslie T. Applegate 14 Jun 1907. They had three children, the oldest child a daughter died in infancy. Surviving are widow, two sons, Leslie T. Meek and John Risk Meek Jr. and mother, Mrs. Emma Meek now of Cincinnati. bur. Highland Cem. Berlin, Bracken Co. widow of William Kimberly lived with her sister, Mrs. Eliza Allender of Foster. Survived by four sons and one daughter: George Kimberly of Cedar Grove, IN; Charles of Fairfield, IA; John of Lexington; Edward of IA; Mrs. Puccini of IN. Also survived by three brothers and one sister: J. P., Clark and George McClanahan and Mrs. Eliza Allender. bur. Lenoxburg Strother Gaines Carlisle, son Livingston and Mary Ann Menefee Carlisle. b. 7 Mar 1849 near Gardnersville d. 13 Dec 1924 at home at Fiskburg age 75 years 9 months and 6 days. m. Rebecca Parker 28 Dec 1881 survived by wife, and six children: Mrs. Otis Fisk, Mrs. Eugene Beighle, Mrs. Marion Collins and Cleon Carlisle all of Fiskburg. H. T. and J. G. Carlisle of West Palm Beach, FL Also survived by two sisters, two brothers, thirteen grand children. (not named) bur. Martin, who is very ill at the home of her mother (really her daughter dh), Mrs. D. Bell, near Bunker Hill. Mrs. Martin is 89 years of age and suffered injuries to her hip about two months ago when she had the misfortune to fall at her home. She is one of our highly beloved women and has been a resident of the county for over sixty years. Mr. Martin was a pleasant caller at our office on Tuesday and renewed his subscription.
