Falmouth Outlook 30 January 1942 Vol. 35 No. 39 page 3: Col 3 Deaths: "Herman Greb" "Herman Greb, aged 83 years, a former resident of Falmouth died at his home in Cincinnati on Tuesday, January 20,1942. He had been in feeble health for a long time. He was the son of the late Valentine Greb, and was born in Cincinnati on September 15, 1858. He came to Falmouth with his parents when a young boy. His father conducted the Greb Hotel in this city for many years. He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Stutz of this county and to this union seven children were born. He is survived by two daughters and two sons: Mrs. Emma Hunter, Mrs. Anna Stauffer, Orville and Valentine Greb. He leaves many relatives and friends in Falmouth and Pendleton County. In early life he united with the Falmouth Lutheran Church and continued his religious activities with this denomination after moving to Cincinnati. The remains were brought back to Falmouth on Thursday and funeral services were held at the Falmouth Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. G. E. Graden. Burial took place in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery." Obituary Falmouth Outlook issue 2 April page 4; col. 3 Mrs. Harmon Greb, aged about 58 years, died Saturday, March 27, 1926, at her home, 1207 State avenue, Cincinnati. Mrs Greb was formerly Miss Elizabeth Stutz, and was the daughter of the late Conrad Stutz. she was born and reared near Falmouth where she spent her young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Harmon Greb, of this city, about 40 years ago, and later they moved to Cincinnati, where they have resided since. She is survived by her husband and several grown children. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Ritter, Mrs. Newel Cummins and Mrs. Orville Cummins, all of near Falmouth. Mrs. Greb is well remembered by many of our older citizens, and was a splendid woman possessed of many admirable traits and character. The funeral was held in Cincinnati Tuesday and the remains were brought back to her old home Wednesday, and burial took place in Riverside cemetery. Obituary Falmouth Outlook Friday, December 1, 1944 MRS. NEWELL CUMMINS Mrs. Sarah Jane Cummins, aged 86 years, a resident of Pendleton County her entire life, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Luther Colvin, in this city Wednesday evening, Nov. 22, 1944, at 5:15 o'clock following an illness of one year. She was the daughter of the late Conrad and Elizabeth Shanks Stutz, and was born in Pendleton County on April 13, 1858. She was a member of the old Lutheran Church. She was first married to Henry Greb in 1876. He passed away nine months later. She later married Newell Cummins on March 24, 1881, and to this union four children were born, one son, Charles, dying at the age of 5 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Colvin, Mrs. Emery Britton of Loveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Will Fryer, also of Falmouth. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Ralph Britton and Floyd Britton of Loveland, Ohio, Leonard Britton of the U.S. Navy in California, Russell Fryer and Cecil Colvin of Falmouth and Raymond Fryer of the Army Air Corps in England. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Falmouth Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. F.D. Swanson. Burial took place in the Lenoxburg Cemetery. The Mason Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements Pallbearers included Russell and J. William Cummins, Russell Fryer, Cecil Colvin and Ralph and Floyd Britton. Flower bearers were Vernie Smith, Evelyn Fryer, Margaret Bell and Gladys, Julie and Goldie Britton.
