Falmouth Outlook Volume 14 Number 6 16 Jul 1920 Pg. 4 Col. 2 Think About It Word was received at the State Department at Washington this week that Great Britain would not give up the battle flag lost by the Kentuckians at the River Raisin massacre. At the last session of the Legislature, an appropriation of $3,500 was made to send a man to England to get the flag and bring it to Kentucky. The flag hangs in the Royal Hospital at Chelsea and the British Foreign Office advises that its keepers "find themselves unable to accede to the request to return the flag." Quite a lot of interest in this old flag was taken by the people in Pendleton county who had relatives in the battle of the Raisin, and it is to be regretted tht Great Britain has taken this view in regard to the return of the flag.
