Mr. Elliott is well qualified for the place and would make a dandy officer. He is well known throughout the country and has a large following who are urging him to throw his old hat into the ring. A party of friends gave Miss Della Hill a birthday surprise luncheon the other evening at the cozy home of Mr. & Mrs. Sam Martin. A large number of the boys and girls were present, each vying with the other to make the occasion one of delight and memorable as well. Miss Della was just sweet sixteen and had never been ........(but our better half here interferes, hence the unfinished sentence.) Anyway, a right good time was had, each of the guests enjoying the evening to the fullest. Miss Della is deservedly popular and has hosts of friends and admirers. The many friends of Early Cummins, of near Antioch Mills, are trying to induce him to make the race for judge of Pendleton county. Early is a thorough going farmer, one that has made good, and is fully capable of filling the office to the credit of himself and constituency. The time has come for agriculture to be recognized in the affairs of the country. We are having too much legislation and not enough impartial rendering of right and wrong. Mr. Cummins would make a good judge, one hat would be fair to all classes. ============================== Items of interest to: Doug Harper Biloxi, MS
