Berryman Bell was married for the first time on September 21, 1826, to Lucinda [Abbott?] in Bourbon County, Kentucky. On the marriage registers from 1826 Lucinda's last name is almost illegible. It appears to be Abbott but this is not definite. There were four known children of this marriage: America Bell born June 20, 1827 Susan Bell born 1829 Francis Marion Bell born 1832 Mary Bell born 1840 Lucinda died bef. July 27, 1842, when Berryman Bell married Elizabeth Angell his second wife in Pendleton County, KY.
