My William E. Wolfe had 13 children, and they mostly live right here in the town where I live. Some of them are no longer living. They are: Charles, Bernie, Esther, Walter, Clyde, Dorothy, Harry, Frances, Verna, Pauline, Delores, Clarence, and Thelma. They also raised a boy named Francis P. Cotton. _________________________________________________ Ronnie Wolfe http://www.firstharrison.org/ Read UP FRONT on the web site to keep up with the latest.
Ronnie: Mary and Billy had a son, Isaac F. Wolf (b. 1848) who had a son William Elsa Wolf. William E. Wolf had two sons: Isaac Farley Wolf and Orville Eugene Wolf. Do you happen to know the names of children of your William E. Wolfe so we can tell if it is the same one? If not, I'll contact a descendent of my William E. and see if she has the wife's name and see if it matches. It might take a while, she is away quite a bit. If I don't get an immediate response, I'll see if I can't search a census record and get a birth year for my William E. and see if they could be one in the same. Somewhere, I have the children of Mary and Billy - as well as those from his first marriage. I'll see what I can find and get back with you. Mary Gray and my GGG Grand Father were brother and sister. Billy's first wife, Sarah Stephens was a distant cousin to my Great Grandmother. I am beginning to believe if you go back far enough in Pendleton County, all of our ancestors were related by blood or marriage. ----- Original Message ----- From: RWolfe2080@aol.com To: KYPENDLE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, July 23, 2004 9:24 AM Subject: Re: [KYPENDLE] Falmouth Outlook Items The only William Wolf that I knowingly am related to is William E. Ronnie: Are you related to the William Wolf/Wolfe that was married to Mary Gray in the 1850's in Pendleton Co. His first wife was a Stephens - Sarah, I think. Dear Doug: How disappointing that we won't have any more of these to read. They have given me so many good tidbits on some of my family tree that I I knew nothing about. I certainly appreciate all the time and effort you put into sharing all of them with us. You're a treasure! Diane
Hello, I too am looking for CRAIL's in these areas as well as Campbell County. My Great-grandmother was Josephine Crail. According to her Death Certificate her father was Daniel Crail. Would love to find CRAIL Cousins as well as DEAN's. Happy Hunting, Roxanne Roxanne (Kammerer) Ramsden Highlands, Harris County, Texas born in Dayton, Campbell County, Kentucky
So sorry to see this venture end. Wish I could have been on list when you started. Will you ever repeat? Researching Crail, Purdy families in Pendleton and Kenton Co. Would appreciate any info others want to exchange.
A few weeks ago I was in Falmouth. Just before leaving I took a "grab" shot of the Falmouth Outlook and Woodhead Funeral Home. If anyone would like me to e-mail them a picture of either or both please e-mail me directly. I cannot post pictures on rootsweb.com Tom
Yes, I too, thank you for your time extended to give us these historical abstracts. We appreciate you! Karen Beagle
Thanks for the postings, it gave me a feel for things at that time. Kat
Doug, I will truly miss you findings which you have been so kind to share with the rest of us. I love the old newspapers so it was a real treat to check them out. My family on both sides were from Pendleton County as I still am. Thanks again for a job well done! It will be surely missed. Thanks again, Connie Browning, Woods, Maloy, Larkin, Lilly,Pfanstiel, Mullins,Simpson, Marshall,Silverwood,Aydolotte, Works, Brawley, Crowley
No clues at all! The photo is a tintype! And the name taped to the back looks like my grandmother's writting. I will be happy to send you a scanned copy of the photo if you are interested. The reason that I am curious is because I'm also related to the Taylors through several other families. Any suggestions as to where Nervie may have been living at the time of the picture? I'll do a little more searching, but my cursory search has turned up no Minerva or Nervie Hafhills. I have found a handfull of Minervas--very few--searching under Highfill or Highfield. Have any of the Highfill researchers heard of a Minerva Highfill? I have a family photo of a young lady and on the back it says "Nervie Hafhill". I think she might have been a Highfill and I believe she may have married a Fields or a Yelton. This photo is old (late 1800s/early 1900s). Any researchers know who she is? Bobby, Your wife and I have common ancestors in Jeremiah Highfill (the elder) and his wife Sabra [--?--]. I am descended from Jeremiah (the younger) and his wife, Mary Tayor. Your wife is descended from his brother, Leonard, and Margaret Taylor. Jeremiah and Leonard married sisters, daughters of Robert Taylor and his wife; that makes second pair of ancestors which your wife and I have in common. Jeremiah Highfill and Mary Taylor were married on 13 December 1804 in Pendleton County. Leonard Highfill and Margaret Taylor married on 26 July 1810. Leonard married Elizabeth Ammerman on 17 November 1822 in Pendleton County. Leonard was wounded in the Battle of Ft. Meigs and late in life received a disability pension as a result. Jeremiah (the elder) was born about 1750 in Maryland; his wife, Sabra [--?--}, was born about 1750 in Virginia. A search of the Pendleton County Kentucky GenWeb site, http://www.rootsweb.com/~kypendle/ brings up lots of hits on Highfill (and its other spellings), Ammerman, and Pettit. You may already be aware of this site; if so, please forgive my redundancy.
