Devoted daughter of Chester & the late Rosa Fox Gilbert. Adored grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 14, caring sister of Chester (Midge) Gilbert Jr. Also survived by one niece and late nephew Ronald Gilbert. Passed away Wednesday, April 2nd age 67. Carter Ritter, Alene Combs posted March 26, 2008 Alene Combs Ritter, 77, of Ringgold, Ga., died on Tuesday March 25, 2008 in a local hospital. She was a native of Booneville, Ky., but had lived in the North Georgia area for 44 years. She was the widow of the late Paul Ritter. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Barry Hughie of Ringgold; Kathy and Al Price of Soddy Daisy; son and daughter-in-law, William and Lisa Ritter of Rossville; grandchildren, Chris Bethune Tracy Brookshire, and Jacob Ritter; great-grandchildren, Cody, Josh, and Alex Bethune; Austin and Hunter Brookshire; sister, Jeannie Pritchett of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Warren Combs of Portland, Or. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the East Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. I am interested in a Wilkerson Scott b. abt 1835 in VA and died about 1970-74 in Owsley Co. He was married to Martha Mainous but he may have had children with a Catherine Abshire. One child - William Henry Scott b. 1853 in Lee Co. VA and he died 1900 in Owsley Co. In Feb. 1875 a minor child of Wilkerson's filed for Civil War pension money. I am curious as to who that child was. Anyone out there who may have already ordered Wilkerson's Civil war records? If not, I intend to do that. Thank you.
