Visit 6-9pm Thu, Booneville Funeral Home. Combs, Georgia Lee Angel Booneville, KY - Georgia Lee Angel Combs, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at her sister's residence in Georgetown, KY. Georgia was born in Owsley County, KY, on July 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Oscar and Eliza Mayes Angel. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Fish Creek Bible Church. She is survived by a sister, Norma Jean Fain of Georgetown, KY; two brothers, Carl Angel of Franklin, OH and Everett Angel of Georgetown, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Angel. Funeral services were held Friday, July 17, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Mathis officiating. Visitation held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Interment at Warrens Chapel Cemetery, Vincent, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There 87 people attending and lot of good old timey. finger licking, food and lots of tall stories and family fellowship. We had many new people this year in the King families, Ramsey families, Casady families and the Gregory and Fairchild families. Viola Betty Cassity Ramsey Gregory was the oldest attending 89, She will be 90 October 14 2009 Her Nephew Bailey Clemons King was next Oldest attending 84. He will be 85 December 19 2009 Beil has several children and grandchildren attending. The Youngest attending was my granddaughter Kalleigh Jo Fairchild 19 months, 2 December 05 2009 Mike and Christy Ewing Fairchild attended with Jennifer Rose and Mike Jr. Greg Fairchild and Kimberly Ann Fairchild attended with Aaron, Keeley and Kalleigh Jo. Also attending again this year was Kim's mother Patti Hale Turner and Her intended Don Elliott. Patti and I are best friends and we go to Madi Gras and other places together. Sandra King Elrod attended for the 1st and gave us her mothers fruit salad recipe and will be published in our newsletters Her Father Raymond Carlos King attended the 06/2007 Reunion and Later that fall he was hit by acr not yeilding a stop sign in Auburn, Logan, KY. Nell King Martin Dooley attending with her 2 children and a daughter in law. Martha Mae King Martin attended with her husband Curtis Martin King and their son and wife. William Henry Hughes was attending and a Nephew of Viola Cassity Ramsey Gregory and he was 75. 04/2009. He is the son of John And Hester Cassity Hughes. New attending were Kenny and Linda Zumbro Brazzell Great Granddaughter of William Jefferson Hughes. Grand Parents George and Nell Hughes Holland and Parents were Jewell and Marie Hollan Zumbro. We also had 1st timers Pat Hughes Scott and Elizabeth Hughes Gregory Petty. They are the Children of Wert and Ruby Hughes. They are also the great grandchildren of William Jefferson Hughes and Margaret Duke Hughes. Yhe Ramsey family was there also. My brother Wayne and wife Mary Jean Fuqua Ramsey. Gary Jenkins 1st time in attending provided us with the Jenkins and Cassity connections. and We also had Stacie Casady and we connected her great grandfather William Beford Casady with my Great Grandfather Mart C Cassetty. I have been in touch with Glen Casada, House of Representative of Tennessee and his Great Grandfather Henry Thomas Casada is the brother to Mart and William. Stacie and I plan on attending the Cassidy Clan meeting in Devenish, Fermanagh, Ireland. Anyone wanting to go we will try to get a group rate. The more the cheeper it will be to go. I now have 3269 names in my Cassity etc spelling file. I will galdly help anyone with their research. She was born January 16, 1927 in Booneville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Walker and Bertha (Lynch) Young. On December 17, 1943 in Kentucky she married Carl Combs, who preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Combs was a member of New Liberty United Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She dearly loved her children. He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Owsley County, Ky. to Charles Edward and Rissie Ross Isaacs, he had lived in this area most of his life. Jack was a 1949 graduate of Owsley County High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving 17 years. Jack was a salesman for D & J Homes. He was a member of Ravina Park Baptist Church and attended Fountain City Wesleyan Church. Jack and Sue loved to travel and attend grandchildren's ballgames. He was a very loving and giving dad and was always there for his children. Survivors include his wife, Sue Isaacs, whom he married July 23, 1998; daughters, Kathy Holbert and her husband, Randy of Connersville, Amy Walton and her husband, Ron of Richmond, Sonya Mathews and her husband, Randy of Richmond, Shelly Wyramon and her husband, Bill of North Carolina; son, Kevin Land of Richmond; grandchildren, Josh Smith, Lacey Orr and her husband, Justin, Shae-Anne Smith, Josh Mathews, Alexis Mathews, Braden Wyramon and Kimberly Wyramon; sisters, Martha Briscoe and Fannie Evans; brother Bill Isaacs; nieces and nephews. Penny there are several Abner Cemeteries that I have heard of. There is one near Squabble Creek but it is on private property owned by the Abner family. Jerry Abner took me and my husband up to that one about 7 or 8 years ago. I am trying to remember who was buried there. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Rains, Donna Baker and Helen Sizemore. Her husband, Donald, died in April 1989. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, where visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
2-09-2009: From Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, Indiana; Pauline Throop, age 77, of Connersville, passed away on February 9, 2009 at her residence. Born on July 1, 1931 in Owsley County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Ottis and Hattie Mays Ross. Both precede her in death. She had been employed in the cafeteria at Ford and Visteon for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her daughter Paula Roszell and her fiancé Mike Pennington of Brownsville; four sons and a daughter in law, Charles E. and KathAleen Throop, Daniel Ray Throop, David W. Throop and Robert Throop all of Connersville; two brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Roseanna Ross of Liberty and Paul and Irene Ross of Connersville; a sister Shirley Banks of Georgia; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband David E. Throop who she married on April 1, 1950 in Connersville. He passed on December 28, 2003; an infant daughter, Joann Throop and a sister Frances Raines. Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Thursday February 12, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Thursday.
