    1. [KYOWEN-L] Perkins, Hawkins, Wainscott, Carr, Osborne etc
    2. Another new Owen researcher to add to our growing family Vicie marshgol4@aol.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------- I have only just begun to research my family tree. I really know nothing about how to begin, but I am certainly going to try. I have a small amount of info that I recently received from a relative that my mom is in contact with. The family I am researching on my paternal grandfather's side is Perkins. They lived in the Moxley/Perry Park area of Owen County. I know that my great-grandfather was James Perkins, b. January 1872. He was married to Belle Hawkins, b. May 1872. They had 2 sons - Hobert, b. 21 March 1897, d. 1963 (m. Lena Carr); and Edward, b. March 1900, d. 1939 (m. Faye Dunavent). Belle also had a son from her first marriage - Willy D. Wainscott, b. February 1891. My information states that Belle's parents were William (J. W.), b. March 1843, and Martha Hawkins, b. June 1843. I know that they are buried in Squiresville Cemetary. I don't know much more than that. On my grandmother's side, I am researching the Carr family. My great-grandfather on that side was Reuben Carr. He was married to Mary Mitchell. Their children were Sarah Carr Brown, Lena Carr Perkins, James Will Carr, Hiatt Carr, Goebel Carr Osborne, Tiny Carr Harrell, Alice Carr Ligon, and Phillip Carr. I understand that they were originally from Franklin County. As I said, I have just started my research and have a long, long way to go. Wish me luck! If anyone has any info on these families, I would certainly appreciate an e-mail. I'm at marshgol4@aol.com. Thanks, Vicki
