    3. Vicki, Yes too many people with the same name does get confusing. All of my datawas taken down while reviewing the National Archives info I had received just before I had a heart attach about six years ago. I wrote it down in my note book while recuping in Wake Memorial Hospital. I could have made some mistakes, but in summary, here are the relationships.as I noted them (I am going to move within the next couple of months and have the original copies from the NA stashed some where, these items are from my note book.) Note: During the giving of testimony, each person had to state their age, and residence. John W. HOPPER, b.6/6/1821, d. 9/11/1896 m1, April, 1843, Margaret SPALDING, b.__?__,d. April 1873. They had (6) children that lived: Elizabeth, the oldest child, b.1844-1845, married Winfield S. Willhoite. Moved to Madison, IN Frank, married Morticia __?__, and they moved to Muncie IN. He died before 1900. John or Johnnie Lemuel Calvin, lived in Seymour, IN late in 1908. He was a railroad employee. Also lived in Cincinnati, OH. Susie, the youngest child, married __?__Willhoite. They remained in the Monterey/Gest area. John W. HOPPER, m2, 6/12/1875, Anne TAYLOR, b.__?_, d. 8/7/1877 Anne Taylor had one daughter, Margaret A. HOPPER, b. 6/13/1876, m. Thomas McDonald Note: It was stated that John and Anne had another chikld, who was John's Step Son. No details were given other than the testimony. Anne"s relatives listed were: *Lemuel TAYLOR, her father, who passed away prior to 1900. *Sarah S. TAYLOR CARR, who stated she was 68 on the date whe appeared to give her testimony, 6/5/1909. She was a sister to Anne. *B. F. TAYLOR, her brother, who was 67 on 6/4/1909. *Cornelius TAYLOR, Anne's brother, who was 62 on 6/4/1909. His wife was Nancy C. __?__. He stated that Anne and Sarah Jane were NOT related. It was stated that Anne was buried in the TAYLOR burial grounds in Swallowfield, KY. I presume that Lemuel was buried there also. John W. HOPPER m3, Nov. 1879, Sarah Jane TAYLOR, b. 8/19/1861, d. 7/13/1886. Her relatives listed were: Richard TAYLOR, her father, who was still married to Anne's Step Mother, Matilda E., in 1909. (I learned that Patsy was Richard's first wife's name, but I have not located here surname.) Mary C. TAYLOR WILLHOITE, her half sister who was 36 in 1909. Lawrence W. TAYLOR, Anne's first cousin, but not related to John Hopper, and tells me that a third TAYLOR family lived in the area, and that Richard had a brother.. He was 38 in 1909. John W. HOPPER, m4, 1/7/1892, Armilda PERKINS They separated on 6/16/1893. She filed for divorce, but the case was dropped when he died in 1896. She married Joseph HILES after John HOPPER died. When I can, I will get the papers and go through them again. It will allow me to practice up on my reading the hand scripts of the early 1900's. I can understand why you feel that this Sarah S. TAYLOR CARR might not be your Sarah CARR. ESpeciall if the other Sarah was said to have been 3-5 years younger in age. If I find any thing else, I will pass it on to you. Better close, and get some other notes answered. Keep the shovel turning....it pays dividends.
