If anyone is interested in reading an account of one man's civil war experience, I just posted an account given by my gggrandfather John H. Conrad he served with the Company G, 37th Illinois Infantry and fought in several battles including Chickamango where he was taken prisoner and was sent to Andersonville (he was not from Owen Co this is my mother's family line) I just received this yesterday from my uncle it's very interesting reading.
