Just for general information I found a table of distances for Owen Co in the 1883 atlas using the town of Owenton as a starting point this is how far our ancestors would have had to travel to get to the other towns Bethany PO 12.7 Dallasburg 12.5 Gratz 9.2 Harmony 16.7 Hesler PO 7.5 Lusby Mill 8.0 Montery 11.0 New Columus 14.6 New Liberty 8.0 Poplar Grove10.4 Sparta 12.7 Squiresville PO 8.2 And to give you an idea of the size of Owen Co (this would not be from County line to County line) Popular Grove is located at the top right of the County on the Gallatin/Grant County lines and Harmony at the bottom center Franklin/Scott County lines the distance they show is 27.1 miles and from side to side Gtatz on left center of the County on the Henry County line and Lusby Mill on right on the Grant County line they show 17.2 This is an easy drive for us today how long in the mid 1800"s by wagon?
