Edward and John Kenny are the same person.(I still haven't figured out why he has an alias...). "In reply to your request for a statement of military history of John Kenney or Edward D. Kenney a soldier of the Revolutionary War, you will find below the desired information as contained in his S.F. 35,487 for pension on file in the Bureau. June 1777 to end of war Lt. David Marshal, Vernon, PA. Date of application June 2 1828. Residence at date of application Scott Co, KY Age at date of application 65 years. in 1828 he referred to his wife(name not stated) between 50 & 60 years of age, his daughter, Pamela, age not stated, and his sons Jack, 17, Dunlap age 15, William 12 and Richard, 9 yrs. old." Edward D(or John) Kenny's will is on record in Owen County, KY , and mentions his wife Nancy and also another daughter, Charlotte Kenny Gibbs plus the children named above.. A Nancy Shumate, daughter of Daniel and Tabitha (Dodson) Shumate married an Edward Kenny in Fauquier Co,VA which I believe is his wife mentioned in the will. The Shumate historians, say Nancy and Edward left VA soon after their marriage, which coincides with the birthplace of their first daughter whose birthplace is KY on the the 1850 census.
