I have received quite a few email regarding the "box" of marriage records at the Owen Court house. I called my cousin Glenna this AM and she is going to the court house today and I will have some answers for everyone. She did tell me that the box contains other documents besides the marriage records, BUT ALL THE DOCUMENTS SEEM TO BE FOR THE YEAR 1840 Some of you mentioned you would volunteer to transcribe them this would be wonderful I can privately put you in touch with Glenna when you are ready to make the trip, she knows this court house inside out but she does not have the time to volunteer her services to this. Also I wish I could ask her to do research for all of you but she just does not have the time. She has done research (finding original documents at the court house) in the past or other families but for a small fee. I do not know what her schedule is right now I know they are expecting a grand baby very soon and they do a lot of volunteer work in the community. If anyone would like to retain her to find some records, again let me know I will ask her and see what she can work out for you. Another solution for thoes of us that cannot get to the court house some of you that can may want to help others on our mailing list. It's up to you to offer your services I know when I am doing my research my time is limited, but I do not mind looking up something if I have all the information and for the price of copying and postage. Others have done it for me so I like to return the favor. That's what our list is for to share and help other Owen researcher's. Anyone have any ideas let me know, I will keep sharing what I receive with everyone Barbara
