The Taylor Cemetery at the end of the Shiloh Road near Keefer in Grant Co. is in danger! This cemetery has ties to both Owen and Grant Counties with the family names of Taylor, Howard, Mason, Wainscott and others. After searching since October, I found this cemetery this past Friday. It has been neglected for years and is grown up with bushes, briars and weeds. But the immediate danger is that a new water line is being run on the Shiloh Road directly inline with the cemetery and the trencher is setting at the edge of the cemetery as if poised to continue on through when work resumes Monday morning. Hopefully, the crew laying the water line will skirt the cemetery, but due to the condition of the graveyard, they may think that no one would notice if they went straight on through.
