Tom, I can't help with your initial request but I was just wondering if you had ever been to Bolton, England? If you haven't I can send you pictures. It is a beautiful place. Let me know and I will be happy to send you pictures. Alinda
Dear Owen Co. Listers Thanks to Barbara Guinn for a pleasant introduction to the list. The families I am researching are Walkers (I know there were two families of Walkers in Owen--I am looking at the descendants of Wm Walker who arrived in Owen from Bolton, England abt 1800), descendants of Lewis Vallandingham, descendants of Absolom Bainbridge, descendants of William Sparks, anybody named Peel, and descendants of Asa Porter Grover (who moved to Georgetown in 1881). After James M. Walker was murdered in front of the Owenton court house in 1874, his brothers fled the State, rather than die of "witness disease." Benjamin Walker returned, but the rest never went back. Would really like to know what happened to the missing brothers--Henry (W.H.) Farmer, and Charles. Tom

Lane) was born in Owen Co., 7/13/33. He and two brothers and sister were relocated in Warren Co., each with another family (orphans). Have not been able to determine his parent names. He later married a Sallie A James (2/3/53) of Graves Co., & was in the Civil War. Died 2/12/90. We may. or may not, have connections. Thanks much!!
I am posting this to see if anyone can help, this was posted to my guest book I have invited them to join our Owen List, Barbara --------------------------------- Maureen Legac mailto:legac@interaccess.com My great-great grandfather was Luke Lynn, from Owensboro, KY. He married Mary _________ and they had at least 2 kids. My great grandfather was William Henry Lynn, born 1865 in Owensboro, KY and John Lynn. William H is listed as having several half-brothers and half-sisters (in his obit), but I cannot be sure if they where children of Luke or children of Mary. William married Arty Osborn of Owen, KY and they moved to Bellaire, OH. I can trace forward from Bellaire, but I have not yet found any info about my family in Kentucky. My mother, Catherine Lynn (who passed away in 1990, once told me that her LYNN family was related to Loretta Lynn. I have yet to find a connection.

I just received a copy of the inventory of Noah Clifton's estate 1829 Owen Co. Earlier I had posted the inventory of his older brother David 1849 and though some of you might like to see what property went for in 1829. Everything went to his widow so there was not a sale like we had with David's property so no names were listed. His will was witness by James Wormach, Nathaniel Parmer and Richard Osburne. William H. Miller and Solomon Winscott were appointed administrators of his will and Charlotte Clifton (his widow) and Richard Osborne signed the inventory bond. Inventory of Noah Clifton: Cash on hand none, 2 Sorrel mares $100.00, 1 stud colt $60.00, 7 head of cattle $45.00, 1 lot of hogs $18.00, 2 head of sheep $18.00, 24 geese $10.00, farming wensils $11.00, 3 beds $50.00, miscellaneous cooking utensils and coopers ware $18.00, totaling $351.50 Barbara
