I have most of what you have that my aunt got for me back in 1975 in Ohio Co. She visited with a number of people there who gave her family records. I have a different birthdate than you do on Chloe Ann Elizabeth - I have April 3, 1833, so I'll go back and double check. I also have 15 July 1840 birth for Martha Ann Acton. My aunt could have made an error, or I could have made a typo. Also, you do not list the first son, Thomas Washington Acton, who I think may have been named Thomas for his grandfather, Thomas Robey. I have the will of Thomas Robey (Sr) of Port Tobacco, Charles Co. MD, probated Nov 1824, wherein he leaves $350 dollars (in land) to granddaughter, Sarah Ann Roby and the same amount to her brother William Thomas Robey (which I think may have been money he owed his deceased son, Thomas, Jr.). Thomas Robey Sr. only named one child, John N. Robey, and a daughter, Matilda Hunt, in his will, but it appeared there may have been others. His grandson, Isaiah was the executor of his will, written in June 1824, if I am remembering correctly. A family member told my aunt that Sarah Ann Robey, after she md. Bartemus Acton 21 June, 1825, they used her money to come to Ohio Co. KY in 1831, as evidenced by birth of Patrick Gabriel in June 1831. They had three children in Charles Co., and six in Ohio Co. I spent most of the day yesterday and half of the day today researching online Charles Co. land and other records, including some 1783 and 1786 census records. I saw Acquila Robey's name a time or two. There are so many Thomas Robeys going back to late 1600s and all through 1700s that it will take a lot of digging to connect up all the right parents and correct children. Fielder Weems (Wemmes) Acton appears to have been named after a Fielden/Fielder/Felder Smallwood, and I think Sarah Ann Roby's mother could possibly have been a Chloe Smallwood. I also saw a Bean Smallwood. Sarah Ann (Roby)Acton gave two of her children two of these names. There were a lot of Beans there in Port Tobacco too. Unless we are very, very lucky, I'm not sure any of the Thomas Robey's will ever be unraveled. If we all keep pooling our information, hopefully we will get the puzzle pieces worked out. I'll try to check out more on Acquila Robey. Thanks Janice Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
