Looks like Elizabeth had been married before. I didn't find this in your 1900 post of the Hartford Herald. Maybe I didn't look close enough. AND from YOUR post of Hartford Republican: March 2, 1906: "C.K. Carson...(and others)........ left for Oklahoma territory on the 26th." Maybe Christopher K. and Elizabeth split up?
