Notes for GEORGE WILLIAM ROWE: !Paraphrased from the June 16, 1886 edition of the Hartford Herald newspaper, Hartford, Ky: G. W. ROWE enrolled his name at a political rally that occurred at Hartford, Ohio County, KY, on Friday, the 11th day of June 1886. The rally's chaiman, The Hon. Sam E. Hill, stated the object of the meeting which was to take into consideration and to urge our representatives in congress to vote for the Pension Bill, which has passed the Senate and which is now pending in the House. At this rally G. W. ROWE enrolled his name as a person eligible for these pension benefits for his service in the 17TH KENTUCKY INFANTRY.
