My name is Claudia K (Hazlet) Bradley. I have more information on Lum Gilbert's family. My mother Virginia was his daughter. I went to his father's (James Gilbert) last home. I can remember as a child visiting his wife and daughter in the home they owened in Grayson, KY. He did not run off with a woman. He ran away from one according to the story we got. Before dating the new woman he made her promise to never ask about his past and no one ever told her about the other family. There is a great story about that and how my grandfather Lum happened to find his half-sister after he was 50 years old by being in the right state, town and home at the right time. I have just started looking into my famiy tree. I have been blessed to find my father's mother (Grace (Hazlet) White) in Salem, IL, and was at her 100th birthday. She will be 103 this June, 2009.
