To do this I need to see land records and deeds. (Deeds are the legal records for transferring land or property.) For Ohio County what county office keeps land deeds - the County Clerk? How are these deeds indexed - by grantor (seller) and grantee (buyer) or both? And exactly how does one go about obtaining a copy of a specific deed? Has anyone recently obtained a copy of a deed from the Ohio County Clerk? If so, can you provide me with step-by-step instructions? Are mail requests accepted? What are the fees?
