Joseph and family are easily found in the Ohio County KY censuses of 1850 and 1860 and the Wayne County IL censuses of 1870 and 1880. Apparently, he died in Illinois before the 1900 census. His wife, Mary M. Haynes b. June 1829 KY, seems to be the brick wall. The 1880 census says both of Mary's parents were born KY; the 1900 census says her father was b. VA and mother b. TN.
