    2. Jim Oldfield Jr
    3. and LINDSAY, ZEHRUNG, WOODARD, WILLIAMS, STOUGHTON in Ohio. Hello Everyone, I am researching OLDFIELD and associated families going back to Kentucky in 1805. I am at a 'brick wall' with my 3g grandfather Joseph OLDFIELD. In part, his obituary says: ' Joseph Oldfield was born in the State of Kentucky, August 27,1805, died July 17, 1884, aged 78 years, 10 months and 20 days. In his early youth, he with his parents removed to West Virginia where, at the age of 22 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah McKelfresh.' It IS possible that his father was either JESSE OLDFIELD or JOSEPH OLDFIELD. I have no clue as to what county of Kentucky he was born in. As many would agree, that would be half the problem solved. >From a fellow researcher, Clark, Montgomery, Floyd counties dating from 1794 to 1810 are my most likely areas. I pick up a lot of OLDFIELD history from south and central Ohio as well as the WV area 1800 - 1835 especially Brooke, Ohio and Hancock counties of WV. Although beginning in Ohio's Hocking Hills State Park area (Benton and Starr Townships) I am also researching many of the surrounding counties including: Ross, Athens, Fairfield, Franklin, Richland, Marion, Montgomery and Muskingum. Ohio towns include: Logan, South Bloomingville, Lancaster, Enterprise, Benton, Columbus, Mansfield, Zanesville, Rockbridge, Athens, Akron, Tarlton, Circleville, Laurelville, Ilesboro and others. Many associated families include: BEERY, BURGOON, BURNS, CHILCOTE, CLARK, COOK, COOPER, HOY, ILES, LINDSAY, LOWERY, MARTIN , MAUK, MCCONNELL, MCELFRESH, MIRE, PUCKETT, READY, SANDERSON, SATER, SCOT, SKIVELY, SPRING, STOUGHTON, STARKL(E)Y, STROOP, WILLIAMS, WOODARD, ZEHRUNG. The time period I am researching begins in Ohio in 1834 around Franklin, Muskingum and Hocking counties, to the present but mainly between 1860's to the 1950's. Any one recognizes these names associated with the above towns, counties or surnames? *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Jim Oldfield Jr. oldfield@oldfield.org http://www.oldfield.org
