ONE MORE TIME!! Hello, I am searching for some information on the following: Listed on the Ohio 1800 Tax Roll among other Smothers that I can ID are a Jacob and a John Smothers that I can not ID.tHERE IS NO TOWNSHIP LISTED FOR THEM, I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT WHERE THEY WERE. ANY WAY I CAN GET A HOLD OF THIS CENSUS? If anyone can assist me in their identity I would appreciate it. My ancestor is Wm Smeathers and his sons John B Smeathers sr and Archibald Jacob Smeathers that all eventually went to Tx. Wm in 1810 returned bef 1812, then went back to Tx in 1821 as scout for Stephen F. Austin. John Smeathers sr went in 1826 w brother in law, John Berry. Archibald J Smeathers went to Tx in 1830. They stayed there. I am also trying to ID a John Smeathers [he is not my John] that signed a marriage bond for a Margaret Smeathers in 1808 Ohio Co.,Ky. She married a William Glenn and his father David also signed the bond. My Smeathers did or some one did sometimes spell their surname as Smither,Smithers and Smothers. thank you for your attention.
