Bell who married on Dec. 21, 1871 to Mrs Rachel Elizabeth Baird Barnett (b. Dec. 24, 1804 d. July 1892) was the Col. Robert Thomson Bell who first married Mary Ann Monroe on Nov. 24, 1814. Mary Ann died July 8, 1870. Robert T. Bell died Aug. 7, 1876 and his WILL is recorded Book D, pg 133, Ohio Co. ------ From: HISTORY OF WOODFORD COUNTY (Ky), by Wm. E. Railey, 1938 page 360 "Robert Thomson Bell was in War of 1812, enlisted in Captain Virgil McCracken's company, recruited in Woodford County. After settling the estates of his father and grandfather in 1832, he moved to Ohio County where so many of his kindred had preceded him. While living in that county he enlisted for service in the Mexican War from which he emerged with the rank of Colonel, and by that title he was ever afterward greeted by his kinsmen and neihbors. His wife, Mary Ann Monroe, was the granddaughter of William Berryman and Rebecca Vowels." -------------------------- page 359 "Thomas Bell, Sr. was a captain in the Revolution and his son Thomas, Jr. was a sergeant, ..." ------------ I notice that Thomas, Jr. and Judith "Judy" Thomson Bell had a son Thomson b. Oct. 18, 1778. another Thomas III, b. Dec. 14, 1789 and also Robert Thomson Bell, b. Nov. 26, 1792, d. 1876 who married Mary Ann Monroe. ------------------ Hope this might help.
