You are correct, it is hard to find info. I even traveled to Kentucky and Ohio to find info. Finice Day is my great uncle and lived in West Viriginia. According to my dad, they all assumed Elizabeth Ann Pierce was his mother. Right now I do not have all the info in front of me, but if you would like more just let me know.
