His parents were Isaphena Evans and Joseph L. Vandiver. On December 17, 1917, in Butler County, Kentucky, Reuben married Pearl May Carmichael. Pearl was born in Grayson County on August 30, 1887. Her parents were Andrew J. Carmichael and Laura Leona Evans. Reuben and Pearl had one daughter: Helen Vandiver was born on August 15, 1918 Pearl died on January 28, 1921 and Reuben died on August 24, 1923, both in Kentucky. He is related to me through Isaphena Evans, so if you need any info on that line, I can take her back (thru the White line) to Henry White in the 1700s.
