It appears that I have two Philip Taylors' yo unravel. Philip Taylor of possibly NJ and the father of Hannah Taylor from Bucks County, Pa., who by chance married a Hannah Atherton of NJ at Fort Louisville, KY., in 1780. Emanuel/Manuel Taylor shows up on the tax records for Ohio County, KY., in 1814, with Philip Taylor. They both show up in Daviess County, KY., records in 1815 & 1816, though Emanuel changes hia name to Manuel. I have a feeling this whole bunch is possibly inter-related because not of the Atherton name but the fact that they all hang around similar counties in KY., namely Ohio, and Daviess, which was created from Ohio in 1814. Nelson and McLean also. My bunch then jumped the Ohio River and set up shop in Perry County, Indiana. If this is further confusing you, please join me. Just a word of caution when dealing with the census records. I pulled up a hit list (list of names) on the census I was searching. From there all I have to do is click on a name & it takes me to the page. Well I found a family-not the one I was looking for but another-that had been totally left off the hit list. I found the one I was looking for as well. I guess it pays to pay attention to each page.
