    1. [KYOHIO] Warden Cooper Stewart
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: BillyMorris120 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.ohio/7392/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Warden Cooper Stewart born abt., 1846 near Mt. Pleasant, Ohio County KY. Son of Henry Stewart 1814-1856 and Martha Cooper 1819-1869. He is listed in house hold of Henry in the 1850 Ohio County census. In the 1860 census Henry is dead and Martha is head of house hold, Warden is listed. In the 1870 Grayson County census Martha is dead and Charles W. Stewart (my Great Grandfather) is head of house hold with his brother Virgil and John with sister Sarah. Would anyone know what happened to Warden Cooper Stewart? I cannot find anything more on him except I found a Warden Stewart death notice Nov 16 1916 in Rosine KY. I don't know if this is the Warden son of Henry and Martha. Any information on him would be appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [KYOHIO] DEEN 1860 to 1880 Kentucky Censuses
    2. Kim Allison Ross
    3. All I could find have been loaded at the link below. I use Heritage Quest (HQ) which uses the film series, roll & page # system. Each year has it's own series #. Example: T-9 is always 1880 census year no matter what, where, etc. Researchers will be able to find the records using HQ or the National Archives films. National Archives (NA) Film # T9-0426 tells the researcher this is the 1880 census roll 426. There will be a division line (usually) with the film info that tells page #. The actual census records are not loaded. Happy hunting!! 2. Kim Allison Ross
    3. I made a goof on Emily A. PORTER born Feb 1839 in Ky. PORTER is actually her married name. I don't know her maiden name. She has a sister (I think) named Mary E. who married Samuel MORELAND. Here's the reference for Emily A.; Mary E. & Samuel MORELAND: 1900 U. S. Federal Census Covington, Kenton, Kentucky, T 623 Roll 534 Page 26.Image 4 of 4. Lines 76 to 78. Emily is shown as Samuel's sister-in-law in census, so I'm going to assume she's Mary E.'s younger sister. If anyone knows these sisters maiden name, PLEASE send to me!!! Thank you very much!! Kim

    1. [KYOHIO] Old Bethel - 3 cemeteries
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lrmbjb Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.ohio/7390/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This was interesting and helpful to me and might be to someone else and that is my reason for posting. Ohio Co. cemeteries Vol 2,p.22 Ohio Co. Historical Soc. 1982 Colored cemetery at Bethel. Copied by Wendell Allen of Rosine in 1972 for the OCHS. Therein Mr Allen states: "Little known to many (is) that Bethel has three cemeteries." "One of Ohio Counties oldest Methodist Churches is Bethel. The Church was one of three Methodist Churches organized in Ohio County in 1804. The Church is located approx. one and one half miles north of US 62 near Horton community." (on Bethel Church Rd.) "Directly behind the Church is the old cemetery ...filled to near capacity and resulted in the opening of a new burial plot..." "Directly across the road from the old church cemetery is a colored cemetery." Thus 3 cemeteries" (1) OLD - behind/ beside the church. (2) NEW - across the road from church. (3) Colored - across road from old. One interesting burial recorded by Mr. Allen was that of "Uncle" Stant Baltzell who was born in 1819,probably a slave, and died in 1917 at the age of 98, no doubt a free man. His death cert is on KyVitals. It is sad that this church, organized in 1804, was disolved in 2007 after 205 years. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
