And, sure enough, you did. Here's part of Susie Belle's obit: Obit Source: MI 7/28/1993 Survivors: half-sisters: Mrs. John J. Greeley & Mrs. A. W. Driesback; cousins: Mrs. Byron Stroud, Mrs. Clyde Mitchell, Mrs. Frank C. Miller, Jr., Mrs. Alvie Brigance, & Mrs. Alney Ashby Comments: MI - parents: Charles & Carrie Miller Carson ------------------- I also found an old 1999 Carson query that said: "He had daughters named Margarite, Marjory, Evelyn. Charles or Charley lived in Kentucky, Massachusetts and Akron, Ohio for a short while during WWII." ------------------------------- The same named daughters are listed on the 1920 New Orleans census as is Susie Belle Carson, his daughter by Carrie Miller Carson. --------------------------------- AND, Charles & Carrie Miller Carson moved from McHenry to Texas about 1908 trying to help Carrie's bad health with a climate change. It didn't help and Carrie died in Texas in 1909 (Tx death cert) but her remains were transported back to Ohio Co. and she was buried at Miller Family Cemetery. THEN - 6 year old daughter, Susie Belle, is living in 1910 with her Aunt, Mrs Richard P. Miller, in Owensboro. Couldn't find Charles. THEN - In 1920 Charles Redford is in New Orleans with new wife, new 3 daughters and 16 year Susie Belle. SO - Looks like Charles Redford Carson lived in Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, and Mass. where he died in 1955. MY QUESTION: Is Charles Redford Carson buried in Mass. or Kentucky ?. Maybe the detail in one of those obits will have the answer? Almost forgot - The 1920 census has Charles' second wife's parents as born in Syria. I found Charles Redford Carson in the 1920 New Orleans, La. census with second wife & family. Her obituary names her parents as Charles & Carrie Miller Carson. I really am trying to find more in Charles Redford Carson's 1955 Obituary published in the Owensboro newspaper. James ended up in Warrick Co.(Boonville),Indiana. I found the Benj. & Amos in Spencer and Vanderburgh Counties in Indiana(all right next to each other here in So.Ind) So, i'm wondering if Benj & Amos's group is connected to Joseph. I had never found James back in KY, til I decided to track a neighbor of his in Warrick Co.IN, nameed George Wimsett(or Winsett). When i tracked him, i found James,16yrs,living with George and his wife, Sarah A.in 1850; and again in 1860. The 1850 census made it look like his mother, Sarah A., was possibly his sister, as they were only 5yrs apart. Then a lady named Debbi Lehr, had an entry on Rootsweb (Wimsatt/Wright April 21,1998)saying that George married Sarah A. Wright,b.1829 KY. That family moved to MO later, she said. Your target is Lemuel Franklin Wells. I'm going out on a limb and saying that Lemuel Franklin Wells 1873 - 1953 is the son of Isham F. Wells 1832 - 1911 and Mary E. Ellis 1829 - 1901. He (Lemuel Franklin Wells) shows up in both the 1900 and 1910 censuses at Ellis Precinct, Ohio Co, Kentucky, as does his father, Isham F. Wells, and his sister, Mrs. India J. (Wells) Colyer, wife of Monroe Colyer. I believe the census taker erred and incorrectly listed 7yo Lemuel Wells as Robert Wells in the 1880 census. [See 1880 Census of Kentucky, Ohio Co, Ellis Precinct, ED 187, page 8 (stamped 649), stop 48, head of household is Isham F. Wells.) FYI, both Isham F. Wells' and Mary E. Ellis' ancestors have been expertlyly researched by Mr. John Emilus Wells whose research is posted online at RootsWeb.com. (See WorldConnect Project database: "John Emilus Wells Family Tree" dated 19 Aug 2009.) If I'm correct about Lemuel, then the five children of Isham F. Wells and Mary E. Ellis are: i. William Berry Wells, b. 1852 Whitesville, Daviess Co, KY. ii. India J. Wells, b. Dec 1853, Daviess Co, KY. iii. Rebecca Ann Wells, b. Mar 1857, KY. iv. Martha E. Wells, Mar 1861, KY. v. Lemuel F. I talked to Orville about 2 months ago, and knew he was in very bad health and very weak atr that time. He turned me over to talk to his son-in-law Gordon, and then I talked to his daughter Pat Hosch. I am very sorry to learn of his passing, and I truly appreciate your putting this on the Ohio County web for those of us would probably not have known about it for sometime yet to come. Thanks.
