Ford "John A. Ford was born January 6, 1819 in Ohio Co., Ky. where he has always resided. His father, Joseph Ford, a native of Pike County was born in 1797 and died in 1868. He was the son of a Revolutionary soldier, who also served in the war of 1812, and died in Pike county about 1825. Joseph married Lucinda, daughter of John and Dolly (Piper) Awtry , of Ohio County, born in 1794,died in 1859, and from this union sprang John A.; Dolly (Likens); David, Joseph and Isaac served in the late war, also William, BURREL, killed in battle; Angeline, Martha and Charlotte, who married three brothers named Kukendall. October 15, 1840, Mr. Ford married Martha J., daughter of Nathan and Nancy (Likens) Keown, of Ohio county, born May 16, 1821. and to them have been born Mary (O'Bannon).Newton J. (served in the late war at the capture of Morgan), Margaret(Berkley), Narcissa A. (Lunsford), Alexander (deceased), Joseph N. (deceased), Thomas H., Jacob S. Lucinda J. and Nancy M. Mr Ford is a farmer having 177 acres of fair land in a good state of cultivation. He has, for forty years, been a member of the Baptist Church and politically is a stanch republican." Joe, I THINK the BURREL Ford in this sketch is the Samuel Burrell Ford you seek. My info is that Burrel's sister Martha Ford married Abraham Kukendall and that he was in Co. B, 17th Ky. Inf. - Civil War. I have a little more info on this "Pike Co-Ohio Co. Ford tribe" if anyone wants. I have not found a CLOSE link to my Ohio Co. Fords but believe they were probably all some how conneted. That is to say, (1)myFords, (2) Shelby Co. Fords (3) Caldwell Co. Fords (4) Pike Co. Fords and (5) Tenn. Fords, all in Ohio Co. were some how connected. Must be a reason for them all congregating in Ohio Co.?? Lynn R. Miller Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: BetsyLinnSt Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.ohio/7035.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Billy, I'm not sure where the 1852 birth year came from. In 1860 she is 3, 1870 she is 14. Then at age 23, she is still at home with her parents in 1880. Per the 1900 census Mary F. Crowder gives her age as 43 and birth as Nov 1856. They have been married 15 years (abt 1885). Age is consistant with the info on the previous census years. In 1910 her age is listed as 55 and they have been married 25 years. Her father, Joseph Baize is living with them. In 1920 she is listed as Fannie age 65. Her father is still living with them. 1930 Mary is listed as 73. So it looks like that the 1880 census taker either got the wife's name completely wrong or there were 3 wives. It would help if we knew when Nancy died.
