I am researching several surnames in Nicholas county and the Harney surname occasionally pops up. Most recently a Sarah Catherine Harney who married Francis M. Varner in Harrison Co. -bond dated 22 Dec.l857. As boundaries changed documents sometimes ended up in different counties even though the people themselves had not moved. Peggy
