The Tribune Democrate, Thursday, 14 August 1958 Funeral services will be held Sunday for Mrs. Melvina Florence Burns who died unexpectedly at her home here shortly after noon today. Mrs. Burns had been a patient at the Paris hospital several times in the winter and spring but had seemed improved during the past few weeks. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Sarah Lee Thomas, her nurse, said that Wednesday night Mrs Burns had felt better than for a long time and sat in a chair for a while. About 9:30 the next morning she began to feel worse and did not recover. Mrs. Burns was born in Robertson County on Oct. 9, 1879. She was a daughter of Marshal and Mary Kathern Moreland Brumagen. During her later years she spent considerable time in Bourbon county where she owned a farm. She was a member of the Piqua Christian Church. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Frank Sims, Mt.Olivet, and Mrs. Anna Moreland, Middletown, O., and three sons, William, Carlislle, Conler and Clarence, both of Paris. Funeral services will be conducted at the Piqua Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. the services will be conducted by the Rev. W. W. Bentley, pastor of the Methodist Church here. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kain and Kabler Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Friday.
