First, there is a steel cable across the drive to the cemetery, so you have to park and walk up the hill. Before you get to the cemetery, you have to pass through a rather large junk yard. The cemetery is just beyond the junk yard, on the left. Second, the information in The History of Nicholas County is not complete when it comes to this cemetery. It's true that some of the stones are broken and unreadable, but there are quite a few that are in relatively good shape. I was looking for a particular stone, which I found in very good shape. This is the information which I copied from my ggg-grandfather's stone: Noah N. Varner, born 16 Oct 1809; died 11 Jul 1888 I also believe, based on an obituary from the Cynthiana Democrat, that Noah's second wife (Sarah Catherine Harney Varner, born 11 Jul 1836, died 28 Aug 1929) is buried at Bethlehem. However, I did not find a stone for her. A stone near Noah's was for Deniza G., wife of V. O. Earlywine, born 10 Apr 1866, died Apr (?) 1888. I am wondering if this was Noah and Sarah's daughter, as they had a child by the name Deniza. There is a stone foundation at the cemetery, which I assume belonged to a church. Does anyone have information about the church?
