I'm glad we are still on the subject of Samuel Shannon. Looked at something I wrote yesterday & saw a misspeak; my Robert Shannon may be a brother of your Samuel, but certainly not his son...Samuel is only 11 years older than Robt. Roy Shannon wrote the Shannon history section of Nicholas County History, and only his branch shows up there. Considering the organizations to which Roy belonged, his family documentation must be impeccable. They should, however, show up in 1830-40-50 Nicholas Co census, but I don't see them. Although they lived in the same area as my Shannons, between the Licking River & Cassidy Creek in the Upper Blue Licks/Buzzard Roost precincts, I find no family connection. Oh well, more research.... The marraige/bond date I have for Margaret & Jesse Hardwick is 13 Nov 1839. The Elizabeth Shannon who married Robert Hardwick (bro of Jesse??) & Margaret would fit into Samuel's 1820 & 1830 census listings.
